Next month’s Best Bling of the Year 5K and 10K runs in Dunedin will raise funds for local teens and their school sports teams.
The event will be held in support of Finish Lines for Scholarships, a non-profit organization that assists high school athletes and the associated programs for fitness and mental well-being.
The event will be family-friendly with strollers and dogs allowed on the course, although they must wait for other participants to start first. There will also be a free kids’ race to start the day, for which no pre-registration is required.
The running event is unique in that organizers will have medals available from races held throughout the season and runners can choose the bling they want to take home.
Races will be electronically timed and awards will be presented to the top 15 male and female finishers at each distance. In addition, runners will receive an event T-shirt as well as swag Bags.
Businesses that sponsor races such as this often provide Promotional Products as giveaways.
The Dunedin Best Bling of the Year 5K and 10K races will start and finish at HOB Brewing Co., 941 Huntley Avenue on Sunday, June 14, beginning at 8:30 am. Registration is available online and includes a free post-race beer for those over the age of 21.
