Soon, Coral Springs locals will have an opportunity to enjoy a production of ‘The Nutcracker’, a modern take on the production originally written by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov, with a musical score by Russian composer by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
The family-friendly show will follow the story of the little girl who is given a nutcracker-shaped prince for Christmas, and the events that transpire afterwards. After receiving the gift, the little girl is told to leave her new gift downstairs and to go off to bed. She waits until everyone else has gone to sleep and then creeps back down to play with her new toy. Later, she travels with her prince to the Land of Sweets and home of the Sugar Plum Fairy.
The local production will feature bright costumes, original choreography, and of course a lot of ballet for the audience to enjoy. Those that plan to attend may wish to have business card printing done ahead of time for exchanging with other supporter of the arts who attend.
The Nutcracker will be presented Saturday, December 12, at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts, 2855 Coral Springs Drive, Coral Springs, starting at 2:00 pm. All tickets will cost $28, but with the best seating likely to go early, attendees are advised to arrive early to ensure they get a good view.
