Local art museum plans reception

Coral Springs Museum of Art, 2855A Coral Spring Drive, will be holding a reception for video installation artist and fine art photographer Cheryl Maeder in mid-January.

Maeder will be the artist of the exhibition film, Super Natural, being shown at the museum from January 19 through March 6.

The exhibition will be a retrospective of the artist’s new work and her highly acclaimed film Super Natural. The artist describes the film as an interplay of light and color. Using the elements of natural light and wind, the film was shot entirely on location. In each setting, a fog of various colors lifts and dissipates over the woodland, coastal seascape, or ocean waves.

Tickets for both the reception and viewing of the exhibition will be free and available to guests of all ages. However, reservations will be necessary as each ticket will have a timeslot assigned and will be limited to 90 minutes.

For patrons wanting to support local artists, the museum offers its curated gallery shop, Workshop. The shop offers handmade, original crafts, and fine arts. Such items are often accompanied by the artists’ Business Cards.

The reception has been scheduled for January 21 from 5:30 pm until 8:30 pm at the museum.

For those wishing to see the exhibit, the museum will be open from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm daily except Sundays.
