Local art museum offers online workshops

Although the Coral Springs Art Museum is closed to visitors, it does have online workshops for adults.

A visiting artist virtual workshop –Introduction to Block Printing – will be taught by Kristina Hoover, who will discuss and demonstrate relief printmaking. Hoover will talk about the technique’s history, and how to create, carve, and Print a Linocut. Guests are to bring their own designs or images. The process will entail carving, inking and pressing. A list of supplies can be found at the museum’s website. The class will take place online Saturday, September 19 from 12:30 pm until 3:30 pm.

Another visiting artist workshop virtual event will be Blooms in Watercolor Notecards coming October 24 from 10:00 am until noon. Crystal Bacchus will discuss color theory basics and layering technique. Guests will need to have four blank watercolor paper notecards and supplies listed on the email receipt.

Once guests make original cards like these, they often send them to nearby Stationery printers to have them made into duplicate sets.

Nick Davis will teach a workshop called Ability to Express in Procreate. His students will learn how to use Procreate to create expressive digital painting. Some techniques he will be discussing will be reflection, shading, illustrating emotions, storytelling, adding layers and character building. His program will be presented on November 11 from 7:00 pm until 10:00 pm.

These workshops cost $100 and preregistration is required.
