Local area gears up for the big day

Coral Springs and surrounding towns are getting ready for this year’s Independence Day next week.

The City’s Fourth of July Celebration will be free and will feature live entertainment by the Remix Band, cool zones, a beer garden, food trucks, family activities, and vendors. Everyone can bring coolers, beach towels, blankets, and chairs.

Vendors at 4th of July celebrations like this often sell red, white, andblue merchandise and have a patriotic graphic design on their packaging.

Parking will be free but limited, so it has been suggested that attendees carpool or walk if possible.

Coral Springs’ Fourth of July Celebration will run from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm in Mullins Park, 10000 Ben Geiger Drive. Fireworks are scheduled to begin at 8:15 pm.

Nearly Pompano Beach will be holding its Independence Day Firework Display from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm featuring 1980s tribute act Rubixx Band, and Speaker Box Band playing patriotic music beginning at 7:00 pm. Fireworks are scheduled at 9:00 pm at Fisher Family Pier, 222 N Pompano Beach Boulevard.

Those wishing to see the display from the Hilton Pompano Beach Pier Hotel Rooftop, 200 North Ocean Boulevard may purchase tickets for $20. Wristbands will allow guests to come and go from the rooftop. Access to the rooftop will be from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm and reservations may be made online.
