Coral Springs to run Holiday Mile and enjoy festive parade

Athletes in Coral Springs can choose to celebrate the holiday season by participating in the 11th Coral Springs Holiday Mile.

This is set to take place in mid-December, and everyone, runners or otherwise, can enjoy the parade that is to follow.

The racecourse will be a half-mile out-and-back, beginning at the Coral Springs Diner.

The one-mile jaunt will cost $15 to take part in, and registration will include event T-Shirts sporting a Gingerbread Santa graphic design. These current shirts are guaranteed to runners who sign themselves up by November 29th, and previous year Holiday Mile shirts will go to runners who sign up after this date.

Awards will go to the top three finishers in 20 age categories, top female and male overall, largest team, best team overall time, and largest school team.

Runners are encouraged to wear Holiday attire and stick around to enjoy the parade afterwards.

The Coral Springs Holiday Mile will take place December 13th from 5:00pm to 6:00pm.

The two-hour Holiday Parade will begin an hour later at 7:00pm and go along Sample Road.

“Magical Memories: A Ride Down Memory Lane” will be this year’s theme. Local organizations and businesses are asked to create floats depicting the town’s past over the last 60 years.

Entry fees are $50 for non-profits and school entries, $200 for businesses and $500 for band sponsors.

Band sponsors need to register as soon as possible to ensure banner printing for their participation.
