Coral Springs to participate in its first annual Together Walk

The National Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain Association and Florida’s Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain Network invites everyone to its 1K/5K Walk and Stroll coming up in mid-May.

A total of $5,171 has been raised so far. The theme of this year’s walk is ‘Together We Make a Difference’. For those not wanting or unable to participate in the actual walk, there will be a Virtual Online Walk as well.

The event will also feature live music, inspirational and educational fibromyalgia programs, and a health vendor expo. Walk participants will get T-Shirts and informational handouts about the chronic condition. Organizers expect over 250 people to participate in the walk.

The walk will help raise awareness for the condition and will also be raising funds for the Center for Understanding Research and Education of Fibromyalgia Inc. This organization connects scientific, medical, and healthcare communities with policymakers to help those with fibromyalgia and chronic pain through advocacy, education, and research.

There may still be time for those interested to get this information to their organizations before their newsletter printing.

The event is scheduled for May 15 at the North Community Park, 5601 Coral Springs Drive, Coral Springs. Registration at the event will begin at 9:00 am, with the walk starting an hour later. Registration fees on the day of the event will be $35.
