Coral Springs looks forward to Oktoberfest

Although Oktoberfest is, as the name suggests, a few months away, plans are being made now and sponsorships are being lined up.

Entertainment will include keg tapping, King Ludwig will make an appearance, and music will be offered by The Brussell Sprouts German Polka Band.

As one of the main draws to events like this is the food and the beer, Oktoberfest will have traditional Bavarian fare along with a biergarten.

Activities will include lawn games, a kinder carnival area, and local vendors. Contests will include stein holding and racing for those 21 and over, yodeling, and a wiener dog dash. Stationery printers often use colorful pictures taken at Oktoberfest events like this for their fall note cards.

For those here in Coral Springs looking for sponsorship opportunities, the festival is offering eight levels. The contest sponsor at the $500 level will provide prizes for the adult and youth contests winners. Sponsors of various levels (including the$1,000 dance floor, $1,500 toilette, $2,500 photo booth, kinder, and stein levels, biergarden $5,000, and $10,000 musick) will receive on-site booths at their designated areas. Sponsors will be selling Promotional Products and showcasing their goods and services.

Each sponsor at the top two levels will need to get their logo design submitted before any event poster, flyer, or banner printing gets underway.

This year's Oktoberfest has been scheduled for Saturday, October 5 from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm, at 9500 W Sample Road on the City Hall lawn.
