The City of Coral Springs, in partnership with the Veterans Coalition of Coral Springs will be holding the city’s annual Memorial Day Ceremony in a few weeks. The ceremony will honor local veterans and families for their service and support.
Guest speaker for the occasion will be Coral Springs resident Commander Tom Melville, USN-Ret. Commander Melville completed active duty in 1970 and served in Naval Reserve Intelligence until he retired in 1993. As a civilian, he has retired from Gold Coast Sales – a company he created.
The Memorial Day Ceremony will be on Monday, May 27 starting at 9:00 am and ending around noon in Veterans Park, 8601 Royal Palm Blvd.
For baseball enthusiasts, the 18th USSSA Coral Springs Annual Memorial Day Tournament will be May 24 through May 26. Divisions will be limited to eight teams, baseballs will be provided and there will be a three game minimum. The event will take place at six locations – Coral Glades Sportsplex at 3299 Sportsplex Drive; Cypress Park, 1301 Coral Springs Drive; Mullins Park 10000 NW 29th Street, and North Community Park, 5601 Coral Springs Drive in town. The Sports Complexes in Margate, and Tamarac will also have division rounds.
Winners in events such as this commonly take pictures of themselves and their trophies to local Print shops for poster printing, or to Stationery printers for family Calendars.
