Textile artists showcased in Cape Coral gallery

Fiber art will be featured in an upcoming reception at the Cape Coral Art Center.

Fiberlicious is a free reception that is part of an exhibit of art work by the gallery's partner, Art Quilters Unlimited, a non-profit artist collective whose members work with textiles and fibers.

Both hand and machine stitching techniques are used by the artists, as well as creative methods that include printing, dying, burning, weaving and other fiber manipulation.

The evening gallery reception offers the opportunity for the public to meet these unique artists, view their work and enjoy light refreshments.

The art center was created in 1977 as a community resource for Florida artists who work in many mediums. The 15,000 square feet of space at the center includes a main and side gallery, well-equipped studios, an on-site specialty art store, and a gift shop offering works of art by students and instructors.

The center presents curated shows, traveling exhibitions and offers open-call themed opportunities for local artists to have their work featured. In addition, art classes are available throughout the year for creative residents and guests of all ages, from beginners to accomplished fine artisans and crafters.

The calendar of classes includes painting, pottery, sculpture, stained-glass, jewelry, bead-making and more.

Organizations that offer events such as art classes and gallery exhibits can bolster their advertising by using flyer printing services of a local Print shop.

The fiber art reception is September 13, 2024 5-7 pm with the artists' work on display in the main gallery from September 6 to 26.
