Cape Coral library to host a variety of programs this July

Throughout July, Cape Coral residents can enjoy a wide range of free programs at the Northwest Regional Library. The library will offer programming for babies, children, and adults.

Adult programs include English Cafe, which meets at 10:30 am on July 14, 21 and 28. The session gives adults who are learning English as a second language an opportunity to practice their language skills and to speak with others.

Another adult program is Coloring for Adults. On July 12, at 6 pm, adults who are looking for a way to relieve stress and to relax are invited to spend some time coloring. The library will provide materials. Libraries and other community organizations offering coloring sessions for adults can use printing companies to produce coloring sheets and other materials.

At 11 am on July 14, 21 and 28, families are invited to the library for storytime. Designed for people of all ages, the storytime will include fingerplays, rhymes and songs, with the goal of helping children develop pre-reading skills. On Wednesdays at 10:30 am from July 13 to the 27, the library will host Baby Rhyme Time, designed for children up to 18 months of age. The baby story time will involve nursery rhymes, songs, dance and puppets.

Finally, on July 9 and 23 from 10 am until noon and on July 12 and 26, from 5 to 7 pm, older children and teenagers have the chance to ready away their fines. They'll earn a credit for fines on overdue Books for every 15 minutes they spend reading at the library during designated times. Kids can earn up to $8 per session.
