Cape Coral eateries join in on Restaurant Week

The semiannual SWFL Restaurant Week has returned to Southwest Florida, but with a slight change. This year, it has expanded into Cape Coral and the surrounding area for the first time.

During Restaurant Week, several area establishments offer customers special prix-fixe, three-course dinner options. The prices for the meals are either $25 or $35, depending on the restaurant.

For the winter edition of Restaurant Week, which runs until December 13, five eateries in Cape Coral are participating: La Corte Bistro, Point 57, Gather, Maria's Pizzeria and Italian Restaurant, and Tasty Cultures.

Restaurants that participate in Restaurant Week or similar promotions can use local printing companies to produce the set Menus of the week.

Speaking to the Cape Coral Daily Breeze, Guy Clarke, one of the founders of SWFL Restaurant Week, called the dining out seen in Cape Coral:

"Amazing - in the last two years, you've gone from this sleepy little town on the food scene to this [exciting] food scene. The Cape has taken it up a notch."

Residents of the area who want to participate in the event can do so by choosing their restaurant, booking a table and asking to see a Restaurant Week menu when they arrive. Although reservations are often recommended, not every restaurant requires them.

Most three-course meals include an appetizer, entrée, and dessert. Some establishments also offer other special deals during the event.
