Local golfers to bring teddy bears to social
Familia de Gladiatores and the Rough Riders Golf Committee are inviting Brandon golfers to their Rough Riders & Gladiator Golf Social and Teddy Bear Collection coming in late August.
The Rough Riders is an organization that collects and distributes teddy bears to children’s and seniors’ programs, as well as to hospitals.
Guests will receive food and drink specials and may buy tickets for the raffles. Everyone is asked to bring medium-sized (about 12-inch) teddy bears to donate to the Familia de Gladiatores, a non-profit organization that supports charities like CASA House of Pinellas County, Dawson Center, and the Children’s Home of Hillsborough County. One item at the live auction will be a spot on the President’s Golf team at the 36th Teddy Cup Charity Golf Tournament.
The Rough Riders Charity Golf Tournament will take place October 14 from 7:30 am to 3:15 pm at Bay Palms Golf Complex, 1803 Golf Couse Avenue, Tampa. The format will be a four-man scramble with a shotgun start. Registration will be $150 per individual and will include cart, lunch buffet, and drinks.
Charities like these often have pictures taken of their events. These photos may go to local printers to become part of the organizations’ advertising brochure printing.
