Festival celebrates two continents together
The 32nd annual Asia Fest is taking place this April in Tampa Bay, held in recognition of Asian-Pacific Heritage Month in the United States.
The festival is presented by the Asian-American Coalition of Florida. Representatives of more than 16 Asian countries will be on hand to celebrate their food and culture. There will be dance and musical performances, as well as martial arts displays. Food of all kinds will also be available for purchase.
A major part of the celebration will be the 7th annual Miss Asia Fest beauty pageant. Participants represent each of the 16 countries and will be looking to take the crown from last year's winner, Miss Vietnam.
In past years, celebrations have included food tastings and arts and crafts for sale. No doubt many of the same things will be taking place at this year's festival.
Those who are interested in learning more about Asian culture will likely make plans to attend this festival. People are sure to come from all over the area, including nearby Brandon, to enjoy some international food and entertainment. Local printing companies may help spread the word by providing organizers with advertising materials.
Asia Fest will be held at Cotanchobee in Tampa on April 25 from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm. Admission is free. To find out the latest information about this popular annual event, call 813-240-4476 or visit the official website.
