The Brandon Running Association will be holding its annual Brandon Half Marathon & 5k in early January.
The course will be along the Brandon Parkway for both races and onto the Selmon Expressway for the Half Marathon, beginning and ending at 2016 Town Center Boulevard. Online registration will be $75 for the Brandon Half Marathon and $35 for the Brandon 5k. There will be no race day registration available.
Participants will receive finisher medals, free race photos, unisex long-sleeve race shirts, and a post-race party including free massages, grilled chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers, and pizza. Many race finishers who receive free photos in the new year often take them to local Print shops to be added to family Calendars as the picture for January.
The start time for both races will be 7:00 am. Awards for both races will be given to the top female and male overall finishers, Masters (runners over 40), Grand Masters (those over 50), and to top three female and male finishers in each of 13 age categories. Other awards will include largest and fastest teams.
Packets will be available on race day beginning at 6:00 am at the event. Proceeds from the event will go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Next year's Brandon Half Marathon & 5k will take place January 7, 2025 from 7:00 am to 10:30 am at the Town Center Business Center.
