Brandon to get 2022 off and running
The live Brandon Half Marathon & 5K will be taking place in early January. All proceeds will go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
The course for both races will be along the Brandon Parkway and the Half Marathon will continue onto Selmon Expressway. Runners can expect temperatures of 50°F to 60°F and the course will be fast and flat. There are a few elevation changes in the half marathon, for which there will be a three-hour and 15 minute cut-off time.
Registration will be $70 for the Half Marathon and $35 for the 5K.
Swag for both races will include tri-blend long-sleeve white race shirts featuring a light and dark blue, gray and black event graphic design, and finisher medals. Runners will also receive free race photos, and awards will be given to top female and male overall winners, Masters (40+), Grand Masters (50+), and top three male and female finishers in 12 age categories. Team awards will be given for the largest number of participants and for the fastest aggregate time of the top three finishing members. A post-race party will include hamburgers, chicken, hot dogs, pizza, drinks, and free massages.
