Brandon holds first annual holiday parade of lights

The Valrico/FishHawk and the Greater Brandon Chambers of Commerce will be presenting their first Annual Parade of Lights in mid-December.

The route will start at the corner of Oakfield Drive and South Parsons and end at Oakfield Drive and South Lakewood.

Spectators can expect to see floats, marching bands, high school drumlines, dance troupes, walking units, drill teams, local dignitaries, and community business owners. Mr. and Mrs. Claus will bring up the rear.

Non-profit organization entry fees are $50, corporate and commercial entries will cost $100, and Hillsborough City Schools entries will be free.

Marching bands and other parade entrants often get their banner printing arranged beforehand to have Banners preceding them introducing them to the crowds.

Three sponsorship levels are still available. Each $500 Mistletoe sponsor will get their logo on the parade website and one parade float, a sign along the parade route, and their company name on volunteer T-Shirts. The $1000 Silver Bell sponsors will get all these amenities and will also receive priority placement in the parade, a logo on volunteer t-shirts, and two Parade Grandstand VIP tickets. The $3,000 North Pole sponsor will get all these amenities plus an additional two grandstand tickets.

Volunteers may sign up now and get their parade day assignments closer to the big event.

Brandon Parade of Lights will take place Saturday, December 14 beginning at 5:30 pm.
