Brandon goes back to school
Florida Penguins will be hosting the biggest back-to-school bash in the Tampa Bay area at four locations, with one being here in Brandon.
Attendees can meet with local community resources such as pediatricians, tutors, healthcare providers, after school programs, and optometrists. Tampa Bay sports mascots will be onsite meeting and greeting everyone.
Kids will get to enjoy activities, collect give-a-ways, complete challenges, and hunt for Penguin-related clues in a scavenger hunt to amass free school supplies.
Parents need to register online for their children to receive backpacks. There will be a limit of four backpacks per family. Kids must be present to take part in the scavenger hunt and to get their backpacks, although any who need backpacks or school supplies may still join in the scavenger hunt.
Businesses are asked to get involved and either give in-kind or donate school supplies. Many put their logo design on the items they donate.
Although the event will be free, registration is required to get into one of four one-hour blocks. The first block will be allowed to attend from 11:00 am to noon, and subsequent blocks will be allowed at one-hour intervals, with the final one Block Four running from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
The Florida Penguins Back to School Bash here in Brandon will be Sunday, July 30 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at Brandon Town Center, Brandon Town Center Drive.
