Brandon gears up for Independence Day parade
More than 30,000 spectators are expected to attend “Florida’s largest” Independence Day Parade.
Approximately 100 units consisting of sports teams, youth groups, area schools, bands, non-profits, businesses, and other institutions will be participating. Each entry will have up to one minute to perform at the reviewing stand. Judging will be done in 10 categories – Musical Marchers, Best Krewe, Professional Float, Youth Cheerleaders, Marching Unit, Decorated Vehicles, Amateur Float, Amateur Performance, Musical Vocal, and Unusual Vehicle.
For safety reasons, souvenirs and trinkets will be handed to spectators by walkers instead of being thrown from the floats and vehicles.
Area organizations, businesses, and faith groups are supporting the event through five types of sponsorships. All sponsors will receive Roundtable Membership, entry to the parade, an announcement at the reviewing stand, and 2.5’ by 6’ parade banners.
Sponsors will also receive 2, 4, 6, 10 or 25 VIP Grandstand Seats. Corporate tents will be available at the Red $10,000 and the White $5,000 levels, and each Red level sponsor will have its logo design printed on the volunteer T-shirts.
The Rocket $1,000 and Blue $2,500 sponsors will need to get their names, and the White and Red levels will need to submit their logo designs, to the event organizers before any VIP Bandstand banner printing is arranged.
This year’s parade will begin on July 4 at 10:00 am at Lumsden Road and S. Parsons.
