Brandon area welcomes US Independence Day

Brandon will be celebrating the 4th of July with a parade, food, activities, and of course fireworks.

On July 3, the 2021 Independence Day Caravan will be a parade of military vehicles that will drive through local assisted living facilities’ grounds. The parade will have Hillsbough County Sheriff’s Office deputy escorts. The caravan will start at 9:30 am.

On Sunday, July 4, the Grace Baptist Church, 2909 John Moore Road, will be holding a Fourth of July BBQ. Along with BBQ and fixings, there will be water slides, volleyball, water balloons, horseshoes, and bounce houses.

Beginning at 5:00 pm, Boom by Bay will have a Blessing of the Fleet and Boat Parade at Tampa Riverwalk. After the parade the fest will begin programs at 7:00 pm. Six locations along the waterfront (Julian B Land Riverfront Park, Tampa Convention Center, Sparkman Warf, Armature Works, Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park and Bayshore Boulevard) will have entertainment, activities, and food vendors.

Each site will have fireworks starting at 9:15 pm. All firework displays will be choreographed as one big display and be fired simultaneously. The event will be free.

Brandon Independence Day revelers may opt to view the fireworks from Freedom Fest, a WWll American Victory Ship at the American Victory Ship & Museum at 705 Channelside Drive. Activities there include dancing, photo opportunities, games, and a silent auction.

Pictures taken at 4th of July events often go to local stationery printers to be included in family calendars.
