Brandon area rolls up for January circus
The Ringling Brothers, Circus Extreme will be getting the year off to a blazing start in the Brandon area. Traditional circus elements will be combined with fast-paced original and comical performances.
David Shipman, a Pensacola native, will be the Ringmaster and introduce animal acts such as Tabayara Maluenda and the famous Ringling Bros Circus Bengal tigers, Robert Stipka and his Desert Goddesses (who will be performing with camels), and Alex & Irina who will be showing off their comedic white poodles. Clown Alley will feature zany pranksters who will perform antics, gags and wacky parodies. These guys are also talented jugglers and stilt-walkers. Brandon attendees will not want to miss the high-wire, slack line aerialists, trampoline experts, and BMX bike performers that will also make appearances.
Also on the agenda will be The Mongolian Marvels – a group of athletes that includes a strong man, contortionists, acrobats, Mongolian dancers and throat singers. Also in the line-up will be Nitro-Nicole - the Human Cannonball.
These colorful performers have certainly been the subjects for much of the circus’s poster printing.
The fun will be at the Amalie Arena, 401 Channelside Drive, Tampa from January 25 through the 29. Performances will be at 7:30 pm on January 25, 26, 27, and 28 and at 10:30 am on the 27 and 28. January 29 will have two performances – one at 1:00 pm and another at 5:30 pm.
