Brandon area readies for Halloween
Nothing says ‘Halloween’ like the Big Monster’s Bed Race, Little Monster Pumpkin Patch and Legend of the Pumpkin King Parade, all of which are part of this year’s 7th Annual Fantasma Fest.
The fest will kick off with the Legend of the Pumpkin King Parade. Thousands of revelers dressed in Halloween finery are expected to accompany the local legendary Pumpkin King as he leads the inaugural procession down Ybor City’s 7th Avenue.
The next morning, Brandon kids are invited to participate in the Little Monster’s Promenade & Pumpkin Patch. Here, they can choose from the 2,000 free pumpkins, decorate them, get their faces painted and trick-or-treat down 7th Avenue where local merchants will be handing out candy. Costumes are encouraged but not mandatory.
After the Little Monsters’ activities, the street and sidewalks will be cleared for the annual Big Monsters Bed Race. The family-friendly event will be a homemade bed drag-style race down 7th Avenue. Winners receive a trophy and bragging rights. Spectators are invited to get some banner printing done and cheer on their favorite teams.

The Little Monster’s Promenade & Pumpkin Patch is set for Saturday, October 27 from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm at Centro Ybor, 1600 East 8th Avenue, Tampa. The race will be from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm.
