Meals on Wheels PLUS in Bradenton is hosting several events next month that will help to feed and provide gifts for seniors and those in need.
The 16th Empty Bowls Luncheon is taking place at two locations on two different days. Proceeds from these events go to The Food Bank of Manatee. Lunch consists of soup provided by an area restaurant. Guests enjoy the soup and can take home their own unique, handcrafted bowl.
The next event is the 11th annual Shoebox Party. Guests are asked to bring a wrapped and filled shoebox with them, and these are given to seniors over the holidays. They are usually filled with small trinkets, toiletries, sweets, and other gifts. Those who do not bring Boxes can make a $20 donation to Meals on Wheels. Guests will likely be served refreshments and food.
Some of those providing the shoeboxes may have Holiday Cards printed by a Bradenton printing company to insert inside.
The Empty Bowls Luncheon will be held at Renaissance on 9th on December 1 and Lakewood Ranch Main Street on December 2 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Tickets are $25 each.
The Shoebox Party will take place at the Daybreak Adult Day Care Center on December 11 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.
