SCFs new partnership brings exciting event

The State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota in Bradenton – specifically the Health Professions Division and Physical Therapist Assistant Program – recently announced that it will be partnering with the Stay in Step Spinal Cord Injury Recovery Center in Tampa, Florida.

As a result of this partnership, the two will be hosting an event known as the second annual Ability Games early next month.

The Ability Games is an event that gives individuals with or without disabilities the opportunity to compete against one another in a variety of different athletic challenges with the intent to raise awareness about the topic and create a sense of community.

The dean of health professions at the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota, Rosie Fairchild, said:

"We're excited about this new partnership that will create meaningful collaboration opportunities for SCF students and those being served by Stay in Step."

The program director for the Health Professions Division and Physical Therapist Assistant Program, Matthew Connell, also made a comment about the upcoming event:

"PTA students from SCF will be volunteering during the Ability Games and are excited about the learning opportunities this partnership will provide.”

The Ability Games will be taking place in Tampa, Florida on June 2 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
