Children in the Bradenton and Sarasota areas will be supported this year by the Gettel automotive group, as it has launched its Support Our Students Backpack School Supply Drive for the fall.
Gettel is accepting donations of school supplies, including colored and No. 2 pencils, Backpacks, paper for Notebooks, and three-ring binders at all six of its locations in the Bradenton and Sarasota areas. The educational foundations in Manatee and Sarasota counties, in which Bradenton and Sarasota are located, will be the recipients of these supplies.
It is also matching donations of a financial nature up to a total amount of $10,000. Monetary donations can be made online by means of a GoFundMe campaign for the drive.
According to a spokesperson for Gettel, Ellen Walther, usually many teachers themselves purchase these supplies for their students. Through this drive, each student can start the new academic year on an equal basis, which can go a long way to helping them be successful in the new year.
In addition, this Saturday, August 6, starting at 8:00 am and running until midnight, Gettel will provide a truck at the University Parkway Target for people to drop off supplies. Gettel might consider using banner printing companies to Print an item for the truck so that shoppers that day can be made aware of the drive and support Gettel’s efforts to “stuff the truck”.
