Bradenton to benefit local foundation with race

Bradenton will be organizing the 2021 Robinson Preserve Twilight 5K/10K in May to help support the Big Bill Foundation.

The Robinson Preserve Twilight 5K/10K is a race athletes can join to raise money for a worthy cause while exercising. This year, the beneficiary of the charitable event will be the Big Bill Foundation. The purpose of the organization is to provide scholarships to children who have combatted life-threatening conditions. The group helps kids experience extracurricular activities such as sports, music, and art to honor Bill Robinson.

The race will be making a few changes to keep participants safe during the pandemic. There is no onsite packet pick-up during the day of the event. Racers may have their information packets mailed directly to their homes or pick up the packet in advance. The race will divide all runners into groups of 50 participants and release each group every five minutes to practice social distancing. Organizers for functions like can use banner printing to make displays that remind racers to follow safety regulations.

The 5K/10K race will be held on Friday, May 28 and will start at 6:30 pm. Every person who Signs up for the function will be given a bib, medal, and bag of swag. Those who win age group awards for their race performance can pick up their prize at the Fit2Run UTC store location.
