Bradenton to be home for new Sonic Drive-In

McClain, Vaughn and Partners (MVP) Sonic Group, based in Mississippi, recently announced that Sonic Drive-In will be returning to Bradenton early in 2015.

Its branch company in Bradenton has signed a 10-year lease with two renewal options for a restaurant space of 1,600 square feet in size at what was once the Bayshore Gardens.

Sonic makes diners feel like they are back in the 1950s with its car hop service, where drivers pull up to a menu board and then park their car to order hot dogs, hamburgers, tater tots, and a shake. Sonic got its start in Shawnee, Oklahoma in 1953 as a small root beer stand. Six years later, its owners Troy Smith and Charles Pappe created the name SONIC for “Service at the Speed of Sound”.

Regional vice president of operations for MVP, Jason McNeill, commented that this is a good time for Sonic to return as Florida is recovering from the recession and the company is growing, having just experienced a very good year.

The restaurant space in Bradenton will be updated and renovated, and will have all the latest in equipment and graphics that the company has to offer.

The new location will be hiring 80 to 100 people, so digital Business Cards may needed by those who will be working in the new restaurant.
