Todd Keller, BoneYard Barbecue owner, after selling his four barbecue restaurants moved to Bradenton to be near family. Since the 1950s, his family had made barbecue their business using family recipes that were over 100 years old.
Keller and Jacob Simmons, the managing partner, opened the 140-seat, 3,000-square-foot eatery on July 31 at 6581 State Road, behind Zaxby’s and next to Shipley Do-Nuts. According to Simmons, both southern style and southern hospitality at BoneYard’s are served in equal portions and come with full table service. Simmons further elaborated saying:
“We want to focus on the experience of the guests here. We want to be a part of the community any way we can. We just want to be very Bradenton-centric.”
The restaurant’s extensive menu highlights must-have dishes for a barbeque eatery. Meats are cooked over oak for more than 12 hours in the BoneYard’s two in-house smokers. Salads, beer and wine are also on the menu.
A banner printing service is often employed prior to and during an opening of a new business to build anticipation and grab the public’s attention.
The BoneYard’s hours Sunday-Thursday are 11 am-9 pm and Friday-Saturday 11 am-10 pm. Catering is available.
