An old-fashioned holiday celebration will be held next month in the Manatee Village Historical Park in Bradenton.
The park will host its flagship event, An Old Florida Christmas, featuring festive displays, exhibits, and family activities. Organizers of similar seasonal events often seek poster printing providers to highlight their events.
The heritage park opened almost 50 years ago to preserve and provide information about the region. Spread over almost four acres, the park is home to multiple historical and replica buildings, a cemetery, and a museum, and is lined with 100-year-old Spanish oak trees.
A group of parishioners vowed in 1976 to save the town’s then 90-year-old church and 110-year-old courthouse from destruction, and their vision became a reality. They formed the Manatee County Historical Commission, and the buildings were eventually restored and moved to the museum location. The park continued to grow to include 14 pioneer-era structures. Grants and donations support the important maintenance of the buildings, as well as programs and education such as tours, lectures, concerts, and special exhibits.
The Old Florida Christmas event will feature live holiday music, free craft-making, and a range of vendors offering ornaments, jewelry, T-Shirts, and holiday gifts. There is a playground for children and picnic tables where visitors can enjoy refreshments from any of the attending food trucks.
It will be held Saturday, December 14 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at the park, which is at 1404 Manatee Avenue East in Bradenton.
