Scrooge gets updated ghost visits

Fairfield Center Stage is once again presenting its original adaptation of Dickens’ Christmas Carol, which usually includes a tour through Burr Mansion.

However, this year, Artistic Director Christy McIntosh has adapted the script into “A Quarantine Christmas Carol Experience.” This version has Dickens characters responding to the 2020 pandemic. For example, Ebenezer Scrooge’s ghosts interrupt his scheduled online meetings.

The cast will be members of our community such as Lisa Dahlstrom and Anne Collin as Mrs. Cratchit, and Suraya Noonan and CJ Newsom as Tiny Tim. Other Fairfield supporting cast will include Ainsley Dahlstrom, Benjamin Brennen, James Hisey, Shaan Mehta, Sophia Pennock Collins, and Kelley Wright. Carol singers will be Krista Watson, Ken Skjeveland, and Marnie Kruse.

The live performances will be available on a private YouTube link, which will be sent by email on event day. Tickets for the live-streamed performances will be $20 per individual and $30 per household.

Local businesses like to support community theater groups like this by contributing time and providing advertising by getting some poster printing done at local Print shops.

The Saturday, December 19 performance will be at 7:00 pm. Team Cider will perform this event. The Sunday, December 20 virtual event will begin at 3:00 pm and will be performed by the Team Figgy Pudding.

A Quarantine Christmas Carol Experience will also be available after the live performances. These too will require tickets.
