Many Fairfield runners will be lacing their tennis shoes and heading out to the annual Fairfield Road Races in early June, and everyone will be going to the 15th Annual Great Duck Race at the end of the month.
Fairfield Road Races will be a two-day event with the 5K, Athletic Brewing Beer mile, the Kids Half Mile fun run and Luca Challenge Day 1 on the 1st, and the Half Marathon and second day of the Luca Challenge Day 2 on the 2nd.
The 5K's flat course will begin on Fairfield Beach Road and take runners through Veterans Park, along residential streets and back to Jennings Beach.
Those entering the Athletic Brewing Beer Mile will be consuming one non-alcoholic beverage between each of four 1/4-mile laps.
Lil' Stags Kids 1/2-mile Fun Run begin at 9:00 am.
The Half Marathon amenities will include technical running shirts featuring this year's graphic design, finisher medals and post-ace party.
Runners signing up for the Lucas Challenge will be participating in both the 5K on Saturday and the Half Marathon on Sunday.
Fairfield Road Races will take place June 1st and 2nd at Jennings Beach.
On June 29th Westport Sunrise Rotary will be holding its annual Great Duck Race on Jessup Green in front of the Westport library starting at 1:00 pm. There will be $10,000 in prizes, food, fun and family activities.
