The Fairfield region has a few options for those couples looking for something special to do for Valentine’s Day.
If dancing sounds interesting, the Pequot Library will be holding its annual Head Over Heels Valentine’s Day Dance. The event will be a fundraiser for the library’s historic building, programs, events and exhibitions.
The School of Rock will be providing the music, and signature cocktails, champagne, and small hors d’oeuvres will be available. There will also be a chocolate fountain and desserts. Everyone will be encouraged to get tickets for the bubbly raffle. Attire is to be casual chic and the event will be for those 21 and over.
For fundraisers such as this, friends of the library may get some flyer printing done and place Flyers at their work and in various civic and social clubs buildings.
Couples can also get on their ‘40s dance attire and head out for an evening of swing-dancing and the big band sound at the SHU’s University Commons at 5151 Park Avenue for A Midwinter-Nights Swing. A big band and the SHU choir will be presenting an evening reminiscent of dance-hall music of the 1940s. General admission will be $10 and SHU students will get in free.
The Head Over Heels for Pequot Library Dance will be February 14 from 6:30 pm until 9:00 pm at the Pequot Library, 720 Pequot Avenue, Southport.
Mid-Winter Night’s Swing will be here in Fairfield on February 14 starting at 7:30 pm.
