Fairfield's Parks and Recreation will be hosting its annual Beach Bunny 5k at the end of March.
Registration for The Beach Bunny 5k will be $35. As well as entry to the 5k, the fee also includes computer chip timing and a 50/50 cotton blend graphite heather T-shirt sporting the event's Logo Design and a bunny graphic design. Shirt sizes will be guaranteed until March 15th.
The run will begin at 9:00 am. Bananas, granola bars and water will be complimentary, and costumes and stroller decorations are encouraged. First, second and third place finishers in each of 10 age categories will receive edible medallions thanks to Noteworthy Chocolates.
As well as the main run, a free one-mile Family Bunny Hop will start at 10:30 am. This will not be timed, and participants are encouraged to wear costumes.
The Easter Egg Scrambles will begin at 11:00 am for children under six years of age and 11:05 am for older ones. This will be a BYOB (bring your own basket) affair.
Race bibs and shirts will be available for pickup from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm from March 25th through the 27th; 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on March 28th, and 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on March 29th at the Fairfield Parks and Recreation office.
The 5k will take place rain or shine, but the children's activities will be cancelled if the weather become inclement.
The Beach Bunny 5k will take place at Jennings Beach, Saturday, March 30th.
