Fairfield Ludlowe High School Drama Club will perform the award winning musical comedy “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” outdoors in Ludlowe Stadium early in May.
The Tony winning musical is about six children entered in a spelling championship. Finger puppets, spills and a “magic foot” are only some of the ploys used to work their way into spelling the ridiculously difficult words. The performance will be 100 minutes long and there will not be an intermission in that time.
This year, $20 tickets will be sold in pods of two that will seat one or two people and $40 tickets that will accommodate pods up to four people. Parties of more than four may purchase multiple pods. General side seating for one, three or five attendees will open once all pods have been reserved.
Attendees are advised to bring cushions since seating will be on aluminum bleachers.
Proud parents often take pictures of their budding actors before or after their performances, and take the photos to local Print shops for duplicates.
Fairfield Ludlowe High School Drama Club’s performances of “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” will take place at the Fairfield Ludlowe High School Football Stadium, 785 Unquowa Road on Friday, April 30 from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm and there will be two showings on Saturday, May 1 – one from 2:00 pm until 3:30 pm, and another from 7:30 pm until 9:00 pm.
If the weather becomes a problem, the performance will be moved to Sunday, May 2.
