Local high school presents festival with a fragrance

Fairfield’s Notre Dame High School is reviving its Garlic Festival in mid-May. Proceeds from the three-day event will go to the school’s Fr. Bill Sangiovanni Scholarship Fund.

Garlic Fest guests will be treated to amusement rides, bingo, raffles, wine, and craft beer. Of course, garlic-enhanced food will be available for sale, along with pretzels, kettle corn, and gourmet foods from local small business booths. Food truck vendors will be selling mini-donuts, BBQ, burgers, hot dogs, Italian ice cream, pizza, and seafood.

Crafters will be selling scented candles, boutique items, jellies and jams, clay pottery, and custom crafts. Many crafters at events such as this include their Business Cards with purchases.

Friday’s entertainment will begin at 5:30 pm with the Lip Service Band, and the Elwoods will perform at 7:00 pm. Saturday’s line up will include Gabbi and Whitey at noon, Chris D’Amato Band at 2:00 pm, and Sketchy at Best at 6:30 pm. Sunday performances will begin with the Lip Service Band starting at 12:30 pm and end with Twice Around at 2:00 pm.

Suggested admission donations for attendees 13 years old and older will be $5. Children under 13 will be admitted for free.

Notre Dame High School Garlic Fest 2022 will take place Friday, May 13 from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm; Saturday, May 14 from noon until 10:00 pm; and Sunday from noon until 5:00 pm at Notre Dame High School, 220 Jefferson Street.
