Local dance studio to give recital for charity

Fairfield locals can support both the arts and Pink Aid by attending the Dance Collective studio’s 4th Annual Dance Collective Charity Showcase at the end of this month.

Dance numbers will be performed by the school’s students, who range from tots and children to teens and adults. Routines will reflect the school’s repertoire, which includes jazz, hip hop, afro, ballet, Latin rhythms, and contemporary music. The highlight of the event will be a duet consisting of co-owner Enrique Alarcon and one of his students.

As in years past, a silent auction with items donated from local businesses will be running before and after the event. Pink Aid, which will receive 100% of the profits, is a grant-based organization that funds local groups offering practical help to women with breast cancer. It also looks out for their families, who may need help with babysitting, obtaining recovery garments and wigs, delivering groceries, or giving rides to and from treatment. Those who are interested may want to have flyer printing done to advertise the event.

The recital will be Saturday, May 31, from 1:00 pm to 2:15 pm at the Quick Center at Fairfield University, 1073 North Benson Rd., Fairfield, Connecticut. Advance tickets will be $35 for adults and $20 for children aged 12 and under. Ticket prices go up $5 when purchased at the door.
