For Fairfield locals looking for something different than the usual fare at the Multiplex, the Fairfield Theater Company (FTC) will be presenting something a change this month; a show called ‘We are the best!’
This is a movie about three young teenage girls who, despite having no musical experience, crop their hair, form a punk band, and begin offering shows.
The movie is an exploration of what it means to fit in, performed in the modern sense. The three girls, Mira Barkhammar, Mira Grosin, and Liv LeMoyne, are all just 13 years old and offer audiences a taste of what it was like growing up in the Swedish capital of Stockholm in the 1980s.
The FTC is a not-for-profit organization centered on promoting the arts in the local community. Established in 2001, the group’s mission is to help provide a forum for embracing the arts by connecting those with talent, with those that wish to experience what others have to offer. The group offers films, plays, and a variety of other live performances. Those who plan to attend may wish to have poster printing done beforehand to help spread the word.
‘We are the best!’ will be shown Monday, November 10, at the Downtown Theater, 70 Sanford St, Fairfield, from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Admission will be $10.
