Fairfield Center Stage will be presenting its annual production of A Christmas Carol for 10 days in mid-December.
Using the original adaptation of the Charles Dickens seasonal story, this immersive event will have the audience following the actors from room to room, climbing and descending stairs, and going outside, as the story of Mr. Scrooge and his Christmas transformation unfolds in the Burr Mansion. Everyone will stop at Mr. Fezziwig's Christmas Party to listen to the carolers, drink apple cider, and eat figgy pudding.
Saturday, December 7 has been reserved for guests with neurodivergent needs, younger ones, and those wishing to enjoy a quieter performance. Modifications to the play experience will include lower sound levels and lighting, and fewer ghostly and special effects.
Not all cast members will be acting in every performance, as roles are played by two or three players depending on the date. For example, Ebenezer Scrooge will be played by Steve Benko in 10 performances, but Robert Alexander and Brian Cook will take over the role for six performances each.
Online tickets are available for $39.19 for teens and adults opting for the non-alcohol hot apple cider, and $44.52 for those wishing to have their hot apple cider spiked. Children's tickets are $23.18. All tickets include figgy pudding.

A Christmas Carol Experience 2024 will take place in downtown Fairfield at the Fairfield Burr Homestead's Burr Mansion, 739 Old Post Road from December 5 to 15.
