Fairfield to celebrate the holiday with traditional gifts and food

A Charles Dickens Christmas Carol and a Christmas market will help usher in the holiday season for residents of Fairfield.

Downtown’s Historic Burr Mansion will be the location of A Christmas Experience 2023, presented by Fairfield Center Stage. Ebenezer Scrooge and ghosts will lead guests from room to room as they relate the famous tale.

Attendees will see the Counting House, Bob Cratchit’s home, and Mr. Fezziwig’s Christmas party complete with apple cider, figgy pudding, and carolers.

Scenes from A Christmas Carol are often used as inspiration for Stationery printers to use as designs on their Holiday Cards.

Performances are scheduled throughout December at various times, and more details can be found on the event listings online.

The noon performance on Saturday December 9 will be a sensory/tiny tot friendly performance. This will be for those patrons with neurodivergent needs, or little ones who would enjoy less ghostly-themed effects. This will include lower sound levels and lighting, and fewer special effects.

The Scandinavian Club will hold its annual Christmas Market on Saturday, December 2nd. Artisan vendors will be selling Nordic gifts, handmade crafts, and baked goods. There will be entertainment, and lunch will feature Swedish pea soup and Finish salmon chowder.

The Christmas Market will run from 10:00am to 4:00pm at 1351 South Pine Creek Road.
