The Bigelow Tea Community Challenge is coming toward the end of September. Along with the 5K run, there will be a 3K Fitness Walk, a Kid Zone Challenge, and a Kids’ Fun Run.
All entrants will receive free T-Shirts with the event’s Logo Design emblazoned on the front and goodie Bags filled with local businesses’ Promotional Products. Wraps and pizza will be awaiting runners at the finish line and everyone can enter the raffle for prizes. Runners can even take advantage of the event’s free babysitting service.
The 5K course is certified and will take runners through Southport’s historic district and along the harbor.
Families and friends can opt for the 3K Fitness Walk which will be a leisurely stroll along the scenic course. Fairfield kids from 6th grade down to pre-K can participate in the Kids’ Fun Run, which will be a 100-yard scamper, and the Kid Zone Challenge, which will be a one-mile jog. Ribbons will be awarded.
The Kid Zone will also have balloon characters, temporary tattoos, face painting and photo opportunities with princesses, action figures and the Bigelow Mascot. Parents like to take these photos to Print shops for Copies to send to relatives, and to Stationery printers for personalized goods like family Calendars.
The Bigelow Tea Community Challenge will be Sunday, September 30 from 9:00 am until noon at the Wakeman Boys & Girls Club at 385 Center Street, Southport.
