The Fairfield Theatre Company will be presenting a Play with Your Food-Lunchtime Theater in the middle of January. This performance will kick off the program’s 15th season here in Fairfield.
The afternoon will begin with The Pantry catering a gourmet lunch, followed by three one-act plays.
The three zany plays will elicit some thought-provoking themes. Each will be read by professional actors.
Mr. Bryjak, well-known for his one-act plays, was originally a sociology professor, textbook author and writer of a book titled ‘The Power of the Dark Goddess and Other Stories’. His play, ‘Heart and Soul’, is a story of what a young couple who feel annihilated by current world affairs decide to do.
Another seasoned playwright, Rosemary Foley, has written over 70 plays. Her play ‘Ophelia’s Mother’ centers on a daughter and her mother who attend Shakespeare’s Hamlet and the effect the play has on the mother.
Dan McGeehan, though a relatively newcomer to writing plays, is an award-winning actor, director, and illustrator. His play ‘A Long Trip’ is a tale of an aging couple trying to regain their youth.
After the performances, the program will end with a brief interactive discussion with the director and the cast.
Those interested may want to mark their Calendars for January 17. The lunch and plays will be at the Fairfield Theatre Company, 70 Sanford Street, Fairfield. The lunch will begin at noon.
