The Fairfield Chamber of Commerce will be holding its inaugural Red Wagon Parade in a few days. The theme of the parade will be I Love Fairfield.
Everyone in town is invited to dust off their Radio Flyers, decorate them, and become part of the parade. Open to everyone, suggested participants in the parade include individuals, local businesses, families, schools, and scout troops.
Decorations and any Banners need to represent something to love here in Fairfield. Some ideas are boats, beaches, the gazebo, school spirit, historic places, and the town’s dogwoods.
All parade participants will receive an ‘I ♥ Fairfield’ pin. Prizes for creativity will be awarded by First Selectman Mike Tetreau, who will also start the parade by ringing a bell.
The route will begin at the Old Town Hall and head toward Old Post Road. Wagons will turn left and head for the YMCA, at which point the parade will cross to the other side of the road and head back to the town hall.
The parade will be on June 11. Participants will start lining up on the Old Town Hall Green, 611 Old Post Road. The queue will be at the Old Town Hall Building on the Beach Road side starting at 11:30 am. It will step off at noon and end sometime around 12:45 pm.Get a Free Quote for Banners Get a Free Quote for Flyers
