Fairfield merchants go to the streets

Over 50 local businesses will be setting up shop along Post Road and on Sherman Green in a few weeks for the Fairfield Sidewalk Sale and Street Fair. Fairfield Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Fairfield will co-present the event again this year.

Face painting, inflatable bounce houses and a balloon artist will be located on Sherman Green. Live music performances are being lined up for multiple venues around downtown Fairfield. Merchants will be selling everything from sporting goods and Books, to jewelry and clothing.

Businesses with downtown locations will get booth space at no charge for the Post Road booths. Other local businesses will be buying booth space for $125. Online and home-based businesses can sell and display their goods and services for $75, and out-of-town businesses will be charged $125.

For those businesses opting for the Sherman Green booths, locals will pay $125 and non-locals will pay $200. Small businesses will be bringing their Business Cards to distribute to prospective customers and network with other businesspeople.

Some businesses will offer discount merchandise in their establishments a couple of days earlier, starting this Thursday, July 19.

Fairfield Sidewalk Sale and Street Fair will be along Post Road from Brick Walk’s Promenade to Heritage Square Shopping Center on Saturday, July 21. The event will open at 10:00 am and close around 4:00 pm. Admission will be free.
