Fairfield in the mood for summer party

Greenfield Hill Grange # 133 will present its annual Greenfield Hill Grange Agricultural Fair toward the end of August. Summer of Hope, a party fundraiser for Operation Hope, will also take place in August.

The Scandinavian Club of Fairfield’s The Summer of Hope Party will take place first. It will be an evening of live music by Band Central, food from local food trucks, and raffles. Proceeds go to local Fairfield residents in need.

Tickets are $100 and beachwear is encouraged. The event will take place from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm Thursday, August 12 at the Scandinavian Club, 1351 South Pine Road.

Everyone is invited to bring their hobbies, art and crafts to display and be included in the judging at the Greenfield Hill Grange Agricultural Fair. Judging will be done in categories such as vegetables, fruits, flowers, photography, baked good, and arts and crafts.

Organizations like this often have pictures taken of winners with their victorious entries. These often go to local Print shops to be added to the organization’s visitors’ guides.

There will be raffles and games and merchandise and food vendors. Talented local fiddle, banjo, and acoustic guitar aficionados will be entertaining the crowd.

Live lectures will have themes such as Antique Farm Tools and Raising Chickens.

The Greenfield Hill Grange Agricultural Fair will be at Grange Hall 1873 Hillside Road on Saturday, August 28 beginning at 10:00 am, and it should wind down around 3:00 pm.
