Fairfield hosts Drive Green event

As part of this year’s National Drive Electric Week, the 5th annual Green Wheels Expo, presented by the Sustainable Fairfield Task Force, will display the latest electric vehicles.

Local EV owners, electric car club members and car dealers will be bringing their bikes, cars, motorcycle, buses, trucks and boats for the public to inspect and discuss the latest advances in emissions-free technology. Some vehicles that have already been registered are five Tesla Model 3s, two Chevrolet Bolts, a Volt, Jaguar I-Pace, Nissan Leaf, Tesla Roadster a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Many of the car dealers will probably have Business Cards on hand for those that wish to get in contact with them later to ask more questions or possibly purchase a vehicle.

There will also be exhibits covering topics such as environmental benefits of bike sharing, carpooling, and mass transportation as well as information about walking, hiking and biking. There will also be information regarding energy efficiency, financing for going green and environmental impact. The goal of the exhibits is to help attendees realize how the transportation choices they make today will impact tomorrow.

Green Wheels Expo will be at the Mill Plain Road Commuter Lot 440 Mill Plain Road, September 14th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. Although the event will be free, attendees as well as those who wish to participate may want to register online for a chance to win $250.
