The 30th Bigelow Tea Community Challenge will be here in a few weeks. The challenge will feature a two-mile walk, 5K race, and a Kids’ Fun Run. his event is expecting over 800 participants.
The 5K Road Race will be on a certified course that will take participants through the scenic historic district and out to Southport harbor. It will have computer chip timing.
The two-mile Fitness Walk will be for families, friends, and individuals who want to enjoy the route at a more leisurely pace.
Fairfield kids from Pre-K age to 6th grade can enter the Kids’ Fun Run. This will be a one-mile jog, a 100- yard scamper and an obstacle course that will feature jumping challenges and hula hooping.
The first 500 registrants will receive free Bigelow Mugs, T-Shirts, and swag Bags that will include other Promotional Products, coupons, and freebies. There will be free babysitting that will be supervised, photo opportunities with the Bigelow mascot, face painting, temporary tattoos, and balloon twists.
Awards and prizes will be given to top finishers in the races and fun run. There will be live music and food after the race, and all walkers and runners will be entered in the raffle drawing.
