Fairfield Road Races will be presenting a Half Marathon and a 5K in early June. The two-day event will have the 5K and the Lil’ Stags Kids Fun Run on the first day, and the half marathon on the second.
All participants will receive technical running shirts, and half marathon finishers will get finishers’ medals.
Both races will have water stations – two on the 5k and 11 on the Half Marathon, as well as medical personnel at the beach and along the course. Cheer groups and local bands are sure to be getting their banner printing done to support their favorite runners along the route. Each race will end with a post-race party featuring live music, food, and drinks. Vendors will be onsite selling race Promotional Products and other merchandise.
Half marathon participants can use the free shuttle service and baggage claim. They will run through six water showers and can take advantage of UCAN Hydration, GU Gel, and UCAN Fuel. Finishers can get free sports massages.
Two challenges will be available. The first will be the Lucas Challenge that will task runners with completing both races. Participants will wear specially colored bibs during the races receive a custom Luca Challenge Running hat, and a Challenge medal.
Local current and retired firefighters and police officers will be running the Police/Fire Challenge. Awards will be given to top teams and individuals.
The Fairfield Road Races will be June 2 and 3, starting at 8:00 am at Jennings Beach.
