The Fairfield Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Fairfield will be presenting their Fourth Annual Fairfield Health & Fitness Expo. Over 50 exhibitors will be on-site with displays and Business Cards, coupons and Promotional Products to distribute.
Free 45-minute lectures will have two tracks. Track one will be a series of lectures on medical updates. Alzheimer’s; The Basics followed by tips for successful aging. The next session will be “The Truth about Concussions,” and the final talk will be about Autism.
Track two will focus on preventative health. The first talk will be on Yoga and meditation techniques, the second will be staying young, the third with be on “Organic versus non-organic” and the last will be a five-step guide to helping children become great sleepers.
An all-day course will be given in AED and Hands-only CPR Training. Some of the screenings will be for skin cancer, face cancer, blood pressure, glucose and podiatry along with a prescription-drug-take-back program.
Kids will enjoy the Popsicle Stick Run Challenge, Kids Corner, face painting, crafts and games of Simon Says.
Senior services will have comfort and therapy dogs, senior living options, virtual dementia tour experiences and accessibility, mobility and care information.
Classes will also be given in spinning, yoga, pure barre, C.O.B.R.A. Self-defense and High Intensity Interval Training.
The expo will be March 11 from 11 am to 4 pm at Fairfield University RecPlex, 1073 N. Benson Road.
