Once again, volunteers are sprucing up the historic Burr homestead for Christmas festivities.
The first event will be the Fairfield Christmas Tree Festival. There, guests can meander through the mansion drinking hot cider and viewing the wreaths, trees, and Christmas decorations designed by local artists and interior decorators. The Holiday Boutique will have ornaments and gifts for purchase, and kids can talk over their Christmas list with Santa. Pictures taken with the old elf can go into this year’s Holiday Cards.
The Holiday Preview Gala will be held the first evening of the Tree Festival. Music, cocktails and light fare will greet the guests.
The Holiday Hip Hop will consist of a dinner and a performance by the Double-up Dance Studio. Afterwards, guests can get a cup of cocoa and go to the tree lighting ceremony.
Guests will enjoy sweets, a light fare and tea at the Nutcracker Sweet Tea. Members of the New England Ballet Company will be available for pictures after their performance of a vignette from The Nutcracker.
All these events will take place at the Burr Homestead, 739 Old Post Road, Fairfield. The Tree Festival will take place from Friday, November 30, through Sunday, December 3. The Holiday Preview Gala will be November 30, Holiday Hip Hop will be December 1, and The Nutcracker Sweet Tea will be December 2. Those interested will need to check for times on the Festival of Trees website.
