Fairfield celebrates Erin Go Bragh!

All Fairfield lads and lassies are invited to attend the upcoming 26th Fairfield County Irish Festival.

The weekend will be a hotspot for traditional Irish hurling and Gaelic football. A raffle will have cash prizes, with $5,000 as the first prize, $3,000 second prize, $1,000 for third prize and $600 for fourth.

The Irish Market Place will have goods reminiscent of the Emerald Isle for sale. The main tent will have performances of Irish dance and music including The Elders, Hair of the Dog, the Highland Rovers, and Boston’s Erin Og.

The children’s tent will include performances by The All Grass Blue Stars, and Critter Caravan, and the pub tent will have talent such as Across the Pond, The Alehounds, The Bedlam Brothers, and The Irish Band.

Fairfields’s own Fairfield Gaelic Pipe Band will be performing on Saturday evening. The Moran Cultural tent – named for the individual who some consider to be the ‘heart and soul’ of the festival, Joe Moran, who passed away in 2005 – will have Irish culture performances such as The Shamrogues, Mattie Connolly, The Bensons, The Lenihan School of Irish Dance, and Irish Jeopardy.

Services such as poster printing and flyer printing can be used to promote such events.

The event will be June 19th, 20th and 21st, on the campus of Fairfield University on Friday between 6pm and 11 pm, Saturday noon until 11pm, and Sunday noon until 6:00pm.
